New Integrated Process

Problem Statement

There are commonly two business scenario’s where a new integrated process is required to be inserted into an existing process:

  • Either a complete new process needs to be added into the business (perhaps to support and/or drive a new business area)
  • Or an existing process needs to be augmented (perhaps for regulatory compliance or to update that business line)

New Process

Traditional custom software build usually requires a considerable budget, not to mention the very long timeframe for the entire build project. A common approach here is to buy a package but then you suffer the pain of changing/adapting the business to fit around the package.

For a new start-up this isn’t even an option, as your unique business processes are usually one of enablers (if not the actual USP’s !) of the business.

Time constraints and availability of skills (good developers are hard to come by and very expensive) are also big considerations. They often hold back a business.

But what if building a bespoke software application/system to fit your exact business process could be done in a fraction of the time and at a lower cost ? This is exactly what Rulevolution was designed for !

Augment An Existing Process

Another common scenario is where you need to augment an existing process, or put a monitoring process wrapper (say for compliance monitoring) around an existing process.

Modifying the existing process itself will be risky and costly, and even if an external package could be leveraged, integration is often a nightmare.

Integration, manipluation of data, flexibility, agility are all key required features of making such a project a success.

Again, this is where Rulevolution can help.

The Rulevolution Approach

The Rulevolution approach is fundamentally different:

  • It is not low/no-code tool as such (although it achieves a similar goal),
  • It does not do code conversion/translation or code generation,
  • We are not an offshore operation.

With Rulevolution processes are modelled visually, then using data examples as training scenario’s the platform is taught the behaviour required (much like a child to taught).

New Process

Visually (and thus quickly), a Business Analyst type of user (eg anyone who understands what the new system needs to achieve) constructs the process flows required, screens etc. This can then be tested in isolation, including a “what if” analysis, before being used for real, once good enough for now processes can then be deployed to a production environment.

Therefore a bespoke tailored business system can be quickly and cost-effectively defined, constructed and tested, within the Rulevolution cloud environment (or any other preferred environment). This greatly reduces any training time on the new system, especially in comparison to an off-the-shelf system).

integrated process

Augmenting An Existing Process

In a visual manner the Rulevolution can accept data (some technical integration may be required) and manipulate this as required, easily calling out to other systems and aggregating, calculating datasets etc. to meet your needs.

Advantages

Using Rulevolution, a bespoke system is not out of reach due to cost, time or available skills. Rulevolution is designed especially for non-technical users and is highly intuitive. Therefore it does not require extensive training or years of experience to become competent.

Integration/adoption of data from other systems is simply accomplished in a visual manner.

The system is trained on real data, thus tacit knowledge (that which we don’t realise we know) is captured as the processes are built.

There may not be a need to necessarily start from scratch, as one of our Solution Templates can be be used to kickstart your development.
